Open Standards for Arabic Technical Knowledge

We build Arabic scientific and technical terminology aligned with international references, alongside open-source projects and tooling that developers, researchers, and students build on.

What we are building

  • Source-documented terminology datasets
  • Libraries and developer tooling
  • Specifications and guides
  • Specialised Arabic language models
  • Applications and frameworks
  • Documented open APIs

About us

One language, shared standards

The same scientific term is rendered differently across languages, which erodes trust between translators, developers, and researchers. We address that by building a central terminology reference that is source-documented, tied to stable identifiers, and designed to grow and stay current.

Every definition in the ArCode-Core dictionary is carried over from its original source, cited against that reference, and linked to related terms through stable identifiers such as ACS-CS-0001 — making technical text machine-verifiable and safe to translate.

Our vision

To become the trusted Arabic reference for terminology, open-source projects, and technical standards — in the Arab world and beyond.

Our mission

To develop open-source projects, create applicable standards, document technical knowledge in Arabic, and build tooling that serves developers and researchers.

Reliability first

We accept no definition without a source. Every term is tied to its original reference — an international standard or an official report — and citation is part of the product, not an optional extra.

Our projects

Open-source projects

Each project is standalone, documented, openly licensed, and developed in the open.

ArCode-Core

Active

The organisation's foundational repository. It defines a structured system for Arabic scientific and technical terminology, unifying modern knowledge in Arabic with global scientific compatibility through stable identifiers, source-documented definitions, and interlinked terms.

ArCode-BERT

In development

An Arabic language model specialised for technical language, initialised from existing Arabic pretrained models and further adapted to understand terminology and technical domains — bridging the ArCode-Core reference and Arabic natural-language processing.

Roadmap

Future projects

Areas where we are launching projects, and areas we plan to enter. Status reflects maturity, not a delivery date.

Applications & platforms

Open-source platforms built on the ArCode-Core reference for search, browsing, and integration.

Planned
Libraries & frameworks

Programmatic libraries and frameworks that make the terminology data easy to consume.

Planned
Developer tooling

Tooling to automate documentation and validation, reducing manual dataset upkeep.

Planned
Open APIs

Documented open APIs for querying terms, definitions, and relations.

Planned
Artificial intelligence

Open AI solutions, including continued development of specialised Arabic models.

In development
Cybersecurity

Security and analysis tooling, plus a specialised terminology reference for the domain.

Planned
Cloud computing

Open infrastructure and cloud solutions that serve our projects and our community.

Community

Contribute

We welcome contributors from every background — every contribution, however small, strengthens the Arabic technical reference.

Developers

Build libraries and tooling, improve the models, or review the code.

Researchers & specialists

Review and update definitions, and suggest more recent official sources.

Translators & linguists

Help unify Arabic phrasing and refine terminology.

Quality engineers

Test the datasets, report inconsistencies, and propose automated checks.

  1. Follow ArCode Standard on GitHub
  2. Browse the terminology dictionary and report any issues
  3. Read the standards and contributing guides in the repositories
  4. Contribute code, documentation, or terminology

Let's build an Arabic technical reference together

Whether you are a developer, a researcher, a student, or a translator — your contribution adds value. Start from the terminology dictionary, or from an open repository, or propose a new domain.
